The Cleveland Museum of Natural History Goes Virtual for Annual Discovery Day

The Museum Goes Virtual for Annual Discovery Day

Text Box

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is proud to host its first-ever virtual Discovery Day on January 18, 2021.

In celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Museum’s Discovery Day traditionally provides the Cleveland community a chance to explore its galleries for a nominal admission fee. However, due to the limitations posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Museum has decided to offer new ways to engage with science and nature on this important occasion.

Museum experts will share the wonders of STEM during free virtual events scheduled throughout the day. Presentations will feature topics such as human evolution, dinosaurs, and astronomy, and will include an interactive Q&A session at the end of each discussion.

Though this year’s Discovery Day festivities have moved online, the Museum plans to offer free admission at a later date. In the meantime, the Museum encourages science and nature enthusiasts to visit during regular operating hours (Friday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm). Tickets must be reserved online in advance. With safety measures in place, visitors can still enjoy the Museum icons they know and love, in addition to the Museum’s newest traveling exhibit, Wildlife Rescue: Miracles in Conservation

The Museum looks forward to seeing Cleveland’s community of learners online during this year’s Discovery Day.
