On Thursday, November 17 The Cleveland Museum of Natural History was honored with multiple awards at University Circle, Inc’s (UCI) 2016 Annual Meeting.

Museum Recognized with Two Building the Circle Awards

The Museum was presented with two Building the Circle Awards for 2016 for the construction of the Ralph Perkins II Wildlife Center & Woods Garden – Presented by KeyBank, and the Larry Sears & Sally Zlotnick Sears Garden.

Presented annually, the Building the Circle Awards recognize organizations that put forth new and improved building projects that enhance Cleveland’s University Circle Neighborhood.

Perkins Wildlife Center and Sears Garden, as well as an all-new state-of-the-art parking garage were the centerpieces of the first phase of the Museum’s Centennial Transformation Project. Future phases will included an expansion to include an all-new exhibits wing that offers unprecedented access to the Museum’s collections and the research conducted by its acclaimed team of scientists, as well as renovations to existing Museum spaces to offer an enhanced visitor experience.

The Museum would like to thank its dedicated staff, trustees, sponsors, donors and the project team for their incredible efforts to bring these projects to life.
James Hambrick

Museum Trustee and Campaign Co-Chair Honored

Also during the meeting, James Hambrick – Museum Trustee and Centennial Campaign Co-Chair, was honored with the Joseph D. Pigott University Circle Leadership Award.

Established in 2001, the award is given annually to an individual who is a champion for collaboration and growth in University Circle.

Hambrick, who is Chairman and CEO of the Lubrizol Corporation, has been a leader in the Museum’s Centennial Transformation Project. He champions not only the transformation of the Museum’s University Circle campus, but also plays a pivotal role in forging partnerships throughout the community that allow for continued growth at the Museum and surrounding University Circle Neighborhood.

The Museum would like to thank James Hambrick for his dedication, vision and continued leadership, as well as congratulate him on this well deserved recognition.
