Issue 8 for Arts & Culture
Cuyahoga County voters decided to invest in their community when they passed the historic Arts & Culture levy in 2006. This penny-and-a-half per cigarette (30 cents per pack) tax has generated more than $15 million each year to support arts and culture treasures throughout Cuyahoga County, including the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The Museum has received more than $5 million in funds since Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) was established.
CAC funds support the Museum's unparalleled science education programs, such as
Inspire: Reach Every Child for every second grade student in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. This funding supports the Museum's ability to offer unique public programs and world-class natural science exhibits—drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Museum's campus each year. Renewing this levy will allow the Museum to continue bringing science to life for students and curious minds of all ages and backgrounds.
Since its inception, CAC has awarded more than 1,200 grants distributing over $125 million to 300 arts and culture organizations in Cuyahoga County—all in an effort to deliver on CAC's core principles of enhancing education, enriching quality of life and supporting the local economy.

CAC funding has reached every corner of the county, supporting organizations in nearly every community. The impact on education has been especially dynamic, with over 1.4 million annual experiences for children. The Arts & Culture sector in Cuyahoga County is responsible for thousands of jobs, hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity, and plays a leading role in attracting millions of visitors to our region.
On November 3, Cuyahoga County voters will have the opportunity to continue their support for our Arts & Culture sector by voting for Issue 8. Visit
