NEW EXPERIENCES AT THE MUSEUM
Feature Film, Scavenger Hunt, and Astronomy Programs Put Visitors Front and Center

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is debuting three new on-site experiences. As we celebrate 100 years of discovery, the visitor remains front and center with the addition of these included-with-admission opportunities.

The feature film Curated Curiosity has officially premiered in the Museum’s newly reimagined Murch Auditorium. The film follows young vlogger Kayla as she goes on an exciting journey of discovery at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History during a special episode of her internet show.

Viewers can join Kayla on her adventures behind the scenes of the Museum and take a peek at early human ancestors, such as Lucy; the dinosaurs that roamed the land millions of years ago; and other fascinating creatures that lived before our time, including the fierce Devonian fish Dunkleosteus terrelli. Tickets to the show—which screens every 45 minutes during regular business hours—are included with general admission.

Museumgoers will also enjoy a new interactive scavenger hunt in celebration of our centennial. Using the free app GooseChase, visitors can go on an adventure through the Museum’s grounds and discover some of science and nature’s greatest wonders at their own pace. Participants will be asked to provide proof that they’ve completed each mission by taking a photo or video, inputting text, or checking in via geolocation on the app. Participants will also be able to upload their own photos and videos from their device to complete certain challenges.

These scavenger hunts are a great way to explore all the nooks and crannies of the Museum’s galleries and outdoor spaces. Guests are sure to discover something new every time they visit. The Museum encourages all participants to post their progress on social media and use the hashtag #goCMNH. New family-friendly challenges will be added throughout the year. Those interested in participating can simply search the term "CMNH" in the app to find available games.

Additionally, while the planetarium is temporarily closed as the Museum undergoes a complete transformation, guests can still explore the reaches of the Universe through live astronomy programs in our newly redesigned Murch Auditorium. Every Wednesday and Thursday, guests can join Museum educators as they profile our Solar System’s most interesting planets and highlight current space-exploration missions. Visitors may stop by the admissions desk or outside the auditorium for a schedule of presentations.

The Museum invites the entire community to enjoy these new experiences, which are available now. To purchase general admission passes, visit CMNH.org/tickets today.
