Sauropodcast: Science Out Loud

Museum Debuts New Science Podcast

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History today released the first two episodes of its new monthly podcast series Sauropodcast: Conversations about Science from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Each episode of the half-hour interview show features scientists and science newsmakers, including the Museum’s own curators and researchers, discussing cutting-edge topics from the frontiers of science, medicine, public policy, popular culture and everyday life.

The new series is hosted by Museum Science Communications Officer and award-winning science journalist John Mangels and is produced onsite at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

In Sauropodcast Episode 1, theoretical physicist and Museum Executive Director and CEO Dr. Evalyn Gates discusses the challenges and opportunities for women in science and the impact of the Academy Award-nominated movie Hidden Figures. In Episode 2, Cleveland Clinic neurosurgeon and researcher Dr. Andre Machado talks about deep brain stimulation and its potential to help stroke patients recover.

Each month will see a new episode published. Sauropodcast episodes can be accessed on the Museum’s website at cmnh.org/sauropodcast, or via podcast subscription services including SoundCloud and iTunes.
