Museum Welcomes Four Esteemed Individuals to Board of Directors

New Board Members Join In Midst of Transformation

CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY APPOINTS FOUR NEW MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

John Baco, Laura Duda, Mike Esposito, and Albert Green, Ph.D., join board

Cleveland, OH—December 23, 2021—The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, a 100-year-old institution, has welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors—John Baco, Laura Duda, Mike Esposito, and Albert Green, Ph.D.—who will each serve a four-year term.

“We’re thrilled to welcome these four esteemed individuals to our Board of Directors,” says Sally Sears, the Museum’s Board Chair. “They bring to their roles a unique set of talents and passions, which will lend themselves well to the Museum’s current initiatives.”

Baco is Vice President and Wealth Director of PNC Private Bank, overseeing the client's team of private bank professionals for the Cleveland market. He helps to ensure that the client benefits from a full complement of investment, trust, financial-planning, and private banking services to help them achieve their financial goals.

Duda is Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. She leads all internal and external communications for the company, including public and media relations, employee communications, corporate reputation management, philanthropy, and community relations, as well as Goodyear’s fleet of world-famous airships.

Esposito, Auto Product Development Leader at Progressive Insurance, has worked at the company for more than 20 years. With an MBA and master’s in manufacturing systems engineering from Stanford University, he holds patents for an insurance-coverage checker system and for a monitoring system that determines and communicates cost of insurance.

Dr. Green is the Founder and Managing Principal of the AMG Consulting Group, which focuses on technology commercialization, new-product ideation, go-to market strategies, and executive mentoring. AMG Consulting promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an emphasis on organizations experiencing transformative change—expertise that will serve the Museum as it undergoes its own transformation. Prior to founding his consulting practice, Dr. Green was CEO of Kent Displays and led the formation of the Boogie Board eWriter product category.

“I look forward to working with these new Board members,” says Sears. “They have joined at an exciting time, as we pioneer a new model for natural history museums worldwide through a major transformation of our campus and visitor experience. I am confident that, together, we can advance our mission and achieve our vision for the future.”

In conjunction with its mission and vision, the Museum’s recently developed strategic plan, Where Science & Imagination Meet, guides the institution’s efforts. The plan highlights four areas of focus: audience engagement, scientific leadership, lifelong learning, and organizational excellence. The Board of Directors—including its four newest members—champions this plan and is collaborating with staff to elevate the Museum as an essential destination for Northeast Ohio residents and visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
