Denise Su Honored as a Notable Woman in STEM
Dr. Denise Su, Director of Partnerships and Programs and Curator of Paleobotany and Paleoecology has been named a 2019 Notable Woman in STEM by Crain’s Cleveland Business. This is the inaugural class for this honor.
As a curator, Dr. Su’s research has focused on mapping paleoenvironments, including those of prehuman ancestor species such as the famous ‘Lucy’ (Australopithecus afarensis) and others.
In 2018 she took on the additional role of Director of Partnerships and Programs, which includes overseeing public educational programs, school programs and community outreach. Her dual role offers the opportunity to deeper connections between the Museum’s research and educational programming.
For each of the last two years, she has organized the Museum’s Women in Science Day, a region-wide celebration of the achievements of women in STEM fields and a platform to advocate for young women and girls to pursue their interests in STEM.
