The Museum’s Ornithology Collection contains approximately 35,000 research specimens from around the world — dating from the 1830s to modern specimens. Most specimens are study skins, with specimens since 2006 including spread wings and frozen tissue samples. The collection also includes about 1,000 skeletons, 1,500 nests and eggs, and a small number of fluid-preserved specimens.
Access to the collection is available at no cost for non-commercial use. To arrange access, contact Collections Manager of Zoology
