Curator Dr. Haile-Selassie to Give Free Lecture
The Cleveland Archaeological Society will kick off a new season of its free lecture series in The Cleveland Museum of Natural History's Murch Auditorium Wednesday, September 14 at 7:30pm. Renowned paleoanthropologist and the Museum's Curator of Physical Anthropology Dr. Yohannes Haile-Selassie will present “The Search for the Earliest Human Ancestors in the Afar Region of Ethiopia.” Admittance to Cleveland Archaeology Society lectures is free, however guests must pay general admission if they wish to explore the rest of the Museum.
Haile-Selassie is one of the world’s foremost experts in paleoanthropology, studying the origin of the human lineage and early human ancestors. He is the principal investigator of the Woranso-Mille Paleontological Project, begun in 2002 with a survey grant that helped lead to the discovery of notable human ancestor fossils, including recently discovered Australopithecus deyiremeda.
